Check out what schools have to say about their Peaceful Playgrounds

Playground enhancements creating excitement

“Peaceful Playgrounds has been an exciting and innovative change to our school environment. The implementation team (Janice) were extremely helpful, proactive and supportive of our goals of creating an outside learning environment that values physical activity, literacy and numeracy skills.”

Enhancing literacy and numeracy learning through active games

“This program gave us the practical strategies and activities to put current research regarding sedentary behaviours at school into action. The Literacy and Numeracy-based markings are used in our L3 (Language, Learning & Literacy) rotations and in our Maths Pods (Targeted Numeracy Groups). By adding movement to some of the more ‘mundane’ activities we have been thrilled with not only the increase in learning outcomes but also the enthusiasm and participation rates of our students.”

Developing personal and social skills through playground games

“We have incorporated the more physical type markings into our fundamental movement skills and physical education programs. It is thrilling to see kids before school playing hopscotch, around the world or walking on the balance beams and walking tracks with their friends. Not only this, we now have the little siblings of our students joining in before and after school. Just the other day two four year olds were jumping on the stepping stones spelling out their names!”

Make delivering PE easier for your teachers

Peaceful Playgrounds has added enormous value to our school in the short time we have been implementing it. Empowerment of student’s social skills, consolidation of literacy and numeracy concepts, engaging, student led minor games and fundamental movement skill templates have been embraced enthusiastically by all students. Staff who have been previously reluctant to take PE classes are now out there giving it a try. Top work PP!”
